I just found this board and there seems to be a lot more deere people here . Don't get me wrong, It's just that deere usually run together. Just paid $500 down on a 1999 4300hst, 4x4, 420ldr, 47bh, 316 hrs. Still owe $19,000. What do you think.I think it's a fairly good by. Basically, the main reason I'm posting this is to see how this board works. there's sure a lot of stuff here. I just don't understand how most of it works yet.

Jerry,
You should be very concerned with this purchase if you don’t get any warranty with it. or assurances that the following issues have been addressed:
1. You are looking at a 1999 machine that may still have mfg. Issues that have not been updated yet. Here are some of the problems documented on this board.
2. Make sure the front axle has been updated, major turf tearing with the old design.
3. Thrust washers in the rear end of the Hydro transmissions were bad and needed to be replaced on a PIP by the dealer. This caused a very dangerous freewheeling situation going downhill.
4. Problems with the hydro petals being very stiff and hard to press.
5. Electronic cruse controls sometimes would not hold.
Don’t get me wrong, the 4300 is a great tractor now, however when the 4200-4700’s first came to the market place I thing Deere had their customers do much of the R&D. Spend some time reviewing the posts on this board, use the search feature, I think it will allow you to go back to the seller and find out what PIP have already been completed?
Good Luck,
Carl
